Neil is a registered Canadian Patent Agent and is licensed to practice before the US Patent Office, and has more than three decades of broad-reaching international patent experience.
Having acted as an external advisor as well as in an in-house capacity as Vice President of Global Intellectual Property for JDS Uniphase, Neil has an exceptional understanding of advancements in the fields of electrical and civil engineering, electronics, and optics.
Neil provides patentability opinions, drafts and prosecutes patent applications in Canada, and manages the filing and prosecution of patent applications in the United States, Europe and other jurisdictions. Alex graduated from The Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MFTI) in 1980 with a specialization in Quantum Electronics and Solid State Devices.
In 1988, he obtained a Ph.D. from the Institute of Radio-Engineering & Electronics of the Russian Academy of Science (IRE RAS). Alex has worked as a Senior Staff Member of IRE RAS, a Visiting Scientist with the Technische Universität Berlin, Institut für Hochfrequenztechnik, Germany and with Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, a Research Associate with the University of Toronto, a Group Leader in the Strategic Research department of JDS Uniphase, and a Senior Optical System Designer with Ceyba Incorporated.

Ashley graduated from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), and is called to the Ontario bar. Prior to attending law school, Ashley graduated from Carleton University with a Bachelor of Engineering in Engineering Physics (B.Eng.).
